There was a big tree on the bank of a river. A monkey lived on it. Big sweet-succulent fruits used to grow on that tree. The monkey would eat them fully and have fun. He was spending the day having fun alone.
One day a crocodile came out of nowhere and came under the tree on which the monkey lived. The monkey asked from the tree,
'Who are you, brother?'

किसी नदी के किनारे एक बहुत बड़ा पेड़ था। उस पर एक बंदर रहता था। उस पेड़ पर बड़े मीठे-रसीले फल लगते थे। बंदर उन्हें भरपेट खाता और मौज उड़ाता। वह अकेला ही मजे में दिन गुजार रहा था।
एक दिन एक मगर कहीं से निकलकर उस पेड़ के तले आया, जिस पर बंदर रहता था। पेड़ पर से बंदर ने पूछ,
'तू कौन है भाई?'
मगर ने बंदर की ऒर देखकर कहा, 'मैं मगर हूं। बड़ी दूर से आया हूं। खाने की तलाश में यूं ही धूम रहा हूं।'

There lived a Brahmin in a village. One day he went to the feast where he got a goat from the host. He was happily going to his house with her. The path was long and deserted. Ongoing ahead, the thugs saw him on the way and thought that why not grab this goat from it. Seeing the goat on the shoulder of the Brahmin, the three thugs planned to grab it.

किसी गांव में एक ब्राह्मण रहता था. एक दिन वो दावत में गया जहां उसे यजमान से एक बकरा मिली. वो ख़ुशी ख़ुशी उसको लेकर अपने घर जा रहा था. रास्ता लंबा और सुनसान था. आगे जाने पर रास्ते में उसको ठगों ने देखा और सोचा कि क्यों न इससे यह बकरा हथिया लिया जाये. तीनों ठगों ने ब्राह्मण के कंधे पर बकरे को देखकर उसे हथियाने की योजना बनाई.
जैसे ही ब्राह्मण आगे गया एक ठग ने ब्राह्मण को रोककर कहा, “अरे पंडित जी यह क्या अनर्थ कर रहे हैं? आप अपने कंधे पर क्या उठा कर ले जा रहे हैं? आप तो ब्राह्मण हैं और ब्राह्मण होकर कुत्ते को कंधों पर बैठा कर ले जा रहे हैं.”
ब्राह्मण ने क्रोधित होकर उसे झिड़कते हुए कहा, “पागल है क्या? या अंधा हो गया है? दिखाई नहीं देता यहकुत्ता नहीं बकरा है.”

एक जंगल में एक बहुत ही दुष्ट सियार रहता था. जंगल के सभी जानवर उससे बेहद परेशान थे. यहां तक कि बाकी के सियार भी उससे तंग आ चुके थे, क्योंकि वो ख़ुद को सबसे श्रेष्ठ समझता था और यहां कि बात वहां लगाकर सब में फूट डालता था. एक दिन दुष्ट सियार शिकार की तलाश में जंगल से काफ़ी दूर निकल आया और एक बस्ती में जा पहुंचा. वहां कुत्तों की टोली सियार के पीछे पड़ गई. दुष्ट सियार जान बचाने के लिए भागा और भागते-भागते वो एक रंग से भरे ड्रम में जा गिरा. वो चुपचाप उस ड्रम में ही पड़ा रहा. जब उसे लगा कि ख़तरा टल गया, तो वो ड्रम से बाहर आया, लेकिन तब तक उसका पूरा शरीर ड्रम में भरे नीले रंग से रंग चुका था. वो जंगल में आया, तो उसने देखा कि उसके नीले रंग को देखकर सभी जानवर उससे डरकर भाग रहे हैं. सबको ख़ुद से यूं डरता देख दुष्ट सियार के मन में एक योजना आई.
